Alejandro
6 years old
As a first grader, Alejandro used to have a hard time completing his homework because he did not have the same reading skills of the rest of his classmates. He loves being in Read Alliance so he can get help with his homework and read about the animal characters in our curriculum. Alejandro says that “Read Alliance is fun! And it helped me read harder words.”
Janepsy
7 years old
Janepsy is a six year old alumnus of Read Alliance. She loves to read and her favorite book is “The Wimpy Kid.” She looked up to the tutors and thought they were very funny and fun to be around. She fondly remembers her favorite tutor, Janet who, “went through the words very slowly.”
Vicole
6 years old
While most of his peers were reading picture books, Vicole began the school year unable to read at all. His teachers recommended him for Read Alliance, where he achieved a year and six months improvement in his reading skills, putting him at grade level with his peers. Now, Vicole loves to read and his favorite characters in our program are Mat and Sam.
