Read Alliance Announces New Board Member

Read Alliance proudly announces that its Board of Directors has appointed a new member, Marcia Cantarella, at the beginning of this year. Coming from “a long family legacy of educators and change agents”, Dr. Cantarella is a highly accomplished consultant and author with extensive experience in higher education and economic equity issues. In addition to her consulting work and 15 years of corporate experience, she has served as Associate Dean at Hunter College, Dean at Princeton University, and part of the Dean’s staff at New York University’s College of Arts and Science. Additionally, Dr. Cantarella has wide-ranging experience serving on non-profit boards and committees including the Women’s Leadership Exchange, Trickle Up, The Children’s Storefront School, The World Education Corps, the 92nd Street Y.

“We are delighted to have a strong, focused and diverse Board of Directors,” said Yvonne Petrasovits, President. “We are grateful for their dedication to sustaining the organization’s mission and enhancing our ability to support early childhood literacy.”
