In the fall of 2010, we began to expand nationally, serving three National Heritage Academies (NHA) schools in Michigan and Indiana; REACH Academy, Detroit Merit Academy and Aspire Academy. We provide on-site training to a wide range of NHA personnel including: elementary and middle school teachers, principals, deans, paraprofessionals and academic specialists. Our staff visits programs several times throughout the year to support program launch (e.g. student assessment, tutor training, logistical support) and provide ongoing quality assurance. We communicate with our NHA partners regularly to discuss student progress data as well as program success and challenges. As we move into the 2011-2012 academic year, Read Alliance will continue to produly serve Michigan schools.
"I've noticed that my child is more interested in reading. My child will pick up a book and want to share ideas about the story she has read. I like the fact that each child had their own individual tutor and is given that one on one attention"
