On Thursday, April 30th passionate supporters of Read Alliance's mission to improve the educational trajectory of at risk, early elementary students gathered together at The Park Cafe for an evening of celebration, networking, and philanthropy. The evening kicked off with a VIP reception overflowing with Board members--past and present, READ's teen tutor ambassadors, and many of the event's generous sponsors.
Armed with Passion to Mentor Kids
Katy Knight's passion for education and opportunity started early on. Katy grew up in the Ridgewood neighborhood of Queens where her academic achievements distinguished her amongst her peers.
READ donors impact children's lives every day by giving the gift of reading! Thanks to your support, READ provided 1,038 at-risk kindergarteners and first graders with critical reading intervention and employed 899 teens as tutors during fiscal year 2014.
